These ribbons are stretchy and the length is ample for one pair of pointe shoes. Cut to desired length. It is designed for flexibility to prevent injury to achilles tendon. These ribbons also provide security ensuring that the shoe remains on the foot while dancing. They will not slip down, bunch or become loose. Unlike traditional satin ribbons, these ribbons will not cut off circulation to the foot when secured tightly. However, because they remain in place and provide that security, there is no need to tie them extremely tight. Dancers who wear these ribbons will find it hard to return to the traditional satin ribbons. If satin ribbons are required by the teacher or creative director, the satin ribbons with the integrated elastic for the achilles relief is recommended.
